Moody`s Corp. Q3 Profit Increases, beats estimates

(RTTNews) - Moody`s Corp. (MCO) reported earnings for its third quarter that increased from the same period last year and beat the Street estimates.

The company's earnings totaled $389 million, or $2.11 per share. This compares with $303 million, or $1.65 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Excluding items, Moody`s Corp. reported adjusted earnings of $447 million or $2.43 per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $2.31 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 14.8% to $1.47 billion from $1.28 billion last year.
